The October 31, 2026 release adds fund proxies to Mezzi’s analysis.

Some funds in your 401(k) or 529 appear in Mezzi with a balance but limited information about their holdings or price performance. A fund proxy helps fill that analytical gap.

A proxy is a similar publicly traded fund used as a stand-in for analysis. Assigning one changes the data Mezzi uses to estimate exposure. It does not replace the fund in your account, move money, or place a trade.

See the overlap that missing fund data can hide

A stock you own directly may also sit inside your retirement and education-savings funds. If Mezzi cannot look through those funds, part of your exposure can be missing from the picture.

Once you confirm a suitable proxy, Mezzi can use its stock/bond mix and underlying holdings to estimate your fund’s exposures in Exposure X-Ray. That gives the conversation more context about allocation, sector concentration, and overlap across accounts.

Proxy-based views are estimates. The stand-in may differ from your actual fund in holdings, allocation, fees, strategy, and performance. Review those differences before accepting a match.

Start with your fund’s documents

Download the fund prospectus or other fund information from your plan provider and upload it to Mezzi. A name alone may not identify the exact strategy or share class.

Ask Mezzi to identify funds with missing data, propose a similar public fund where a reasonable match exists, explain the differences, and ask you which assignments to apply. If information is insufficient, the next step is to obtain it—not guess a proxy.

The October announcement included these illustrative candidates:

Fund listed in an account Public fund to investigate as a proxy
JPMCB SmartRetire 2055 JFFAX — JPMorgan SmartRetirement 2055 Fund
Large Cap Value / LSV Asset Management LSVEX — LSV Value Equity Fund
Small Cap Value / Ceredex Fund SCETX — Virtus Ceredex Small-Cap Value Equity Fund
John Hancock Freedom 529 Blue Chip Growth Portfolio TRBCX — T. Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth Fund

These are examples from the release, not verified matches for every plan or recommendations to purchase those securities. Check current fund documents and the specific investment you own.

Review my fund data. Do I need proxies for any of my accounts? Review missing fund data, explain suitable matches and their differences, ask for missing fund documents, and get my confirmation before applying any assignments. Proxy analysis must not change my investments or place trades.
